It is also a term used by progressives to mean equality of education inputs (funding) for infrastructure (land and buildings), teachers, books, and student services; all worthy goals, but the lists ends there. For conservatives, the list continues on to include equality of output (the acquisition of knowledge, usually expressed in test scores or degrees) for students, knowledge being necessary for a successful life, and the source of any future capital acquisition. Progressives index input to output. Conservatives have seen billions spent on inputs, look at the test scores and graduation rates, and ask, "Where are the outputs?", for which they are castigated for being...wait for it...conservatives! Home school parents have worked output wonders on a very limited budget, by imparting direct knowledge through books, field trips, and other resources, enabling their children to participate successfully in a "knowledge-is-capital" based economy. |

While not an official Core Knowledge School, the Lighthouse Academy
recommends the Core Knowledge Sequence. Core Knowledge is a solid,
specific, sequenced, and shared curriculum. Parents teach as creatively as
they like, with the help of a content guide that builds from year to year,
covering subject matter throughly without useless repetition..

permitting; see "about us".) and fields trips, special activities and
graduations, the Lighthouse Academy is a part of our children's lives and a
source of great memories.

own private school may enroll in the private school of another person

students of other families in 2003. It remains a small school of 40
families or less.
